CITYNYTES™ Vodka Bags Three Silver Medals at the 2023 USA Spirits Ratings Competition in San Francisco
San Francisco, CA, United States, 2023 – In the USA Spirits Ratings competition, which took place in San Francisco in July 2023, CITYNYTES™ won three Silver medals, which is the ultimate seal of approval within the spirits industry. In order to receive this award, CITYNYTES™ needed to score highly in 3 different categories – Quality, Value and Packaging – in a blind tasting competition overseen by a panel of high-profile judges.
The inaugural USA Spirits Ratings competition took into account three different factors: Quality, Value and Packaging. Quality refers to the overall taste, flavor and aroma of the spirit. Value refers to the relative pricing of the spirit vis-à-vis other peers. And Packaging refers to the overall brand presentation of the spirit, with an emphasis on how well the spirit appeals to a specific customer segment.
The goal of the USA Spirits Ratings competition is to find, evaluate and award spirits that successfully score well across each of these three major scoring criteria.
According to Sid Patel, CEO and Founder of event organizers Beverage Trade Network, “This innovative scoring system has been instrumental in identifying world-class spirits that consumers actually want to drink. We’ve broadened the definition of drinkability, in order to reflect how spirits drinkers actually choose which spirits they buy at a retail store or order from a bar menu.
The judging panel consisted of spirits industry experts with extensive commercial buying expertise. Spirits were evaluated across three different criteria (Quality, Value and Packaging) and assigned scores on a 100-point basis. In order to receive a Silver medal in the competition, a spirit needed to score at least 80 points as part of a total weighted score.
“We’re extremely pleased that each of the vodkas received a medal at the USA Spirits Ratings event. Our aim is to create consumer-friendly spirits that are going to be appreciated by specific customers looking for high-quality spirits with competitive pricing. Winning a Silver medal is important to us because it shows we are making the right types of spirits, said Dr. Amanda Turner, Owner/Founder.

CITYNYTES™ Takes Home Silver & Bronze Medals at 2023 Bartender Spirits Awards
San Francisco, CA United States, 2023 – After a successful judging session in San Francisco in the month of May, CITYNYTES™ received Silver & Bronze medals from a panel of high-profile bartenders and beverage directors.
Medals were awarded to those spirits that meet very specific judging criteria, with a goal of identifying spirits that should become additions to restaurant and bar menus. Spirits were judged by Mixability, Balance and Versatility, Taste, Mouthfeel and Finish, Package & Price.
“We’re really excited that our vodkas scored so highly on the various factors making it a great spirit for the consumers to enjoy in restaurants and bars,” said Dr. Turner, Owner/Founder. “We really put a lot of emphasis on creating a brand with broad consumer appeal, and one that beverage drinkers will enjoy for a variety of occasions. This award is really a validation of our distillation expertise and commitment to our consumers.”

Each spirits brand had to score among these 5 criteria to get the best score: M (Mixability Score) + B (Balance and Versatility) + T (Taste, Mouthfeel and Finish) Score) + Package Score (P) + Value Score (V) = Bartenders Spirits Awards Final Score.
Sid Patel, CEO of event organizers Beverage Trade Network, pointed out the significance of having world-class bartenders choose the spirits they think customers will most enjoy drinking, “The idea of the Bartender Spirits Awards is to put the best judges forward to evaluate the best on-premise spirits for the consumer. CITYNYTES™ Wins the Bronze Medal at the 2023 London Spirits Competition
London, England, 2023 – CITYNYTES™ wins a Bronze medal at the 6th London Spirits Competition, which took place in London on March 22, 23 and 24, 2023. The medal is an ultimate endorsement in the global spirits industry. CITYNYTES™ Ginger, Honey & Hemp scored highly in the three judging aspects of quality, value and packaging.
The London Spirits Competition awards spirits for their drinkability and for its all-around excellence – in the way it tastes, looks and the value it provides. They believe that this golden triangle makes spirit drinkers more likely to buy and drink the spirit either from a retail store or at a bar or restaurant and want to laud this.
CEO Sid Patel of event organizer Beverage Trade Network mentions that “Spirits brand consumers are looking for a comprehensive experience when drinking a spirit. The spirit needs to hit all the right notes to be enjoyed again and again. So, at the London Spirits Competition, we evaluate spirits that contribute to a spirit’s overall drinkability. Along with the quality, spirits are also assessed for their appearance and value.”
The judging panel of 2023 was drawn from the leading spirits industry professionals with direct commercial buying responsibility. This establishes the winners at the competition to be agreeable to the on-premise trade and consumer alike. Spirits were judged on the basis of three primary criteria – quality, value and packaging – and then scored on a 100-point scale. Spirits that scored 90+ points were awarded Gold medals, those that scored 76 to 89 points were awarded Silver medals, whilst Bronze medals were awarded to spirits that score between 65 to 75 points.
The extremely qualified judges, the chance to compete with thousands of excellent spirits from around the world and the stringent judging criteria of quality, value and packaging makes an award from the London Spirits Competition a coveted one. “We are pleased that our vodka performed well at the competition” said Dr. Amanda Turner, Owner/Founder. “This Bronze medal demonstrates that the spirits we are making are the kind that bar managers and mixologists want to stock and spirits drinkers enjoy drinking.”
